The Latin letters in the chart are SKATS labels. They indicate which Latin letter's Morse value a Hangul Jamo reuses; they do not represent Korean pronunciation or a Korean romanization. This site uses 14 basic consonants and 12 basic vowels, retaining both ㅐ = Q = --.- and ㅔ = Y = -.--.

How double and compound Jamo are decomposed
A complete Hangul syllable block is split by its Unicode initial, medial, and final positions, then non-basic forms expand into sequences of the 26 basic Jamo.

Precomposed modern Hangul, modern Unicode conjoining Jamo, compatibility Jamo, and normalizable halfwidth forms are accepted. Old Hangul is outside this 26-Jamo decomposition.
Digits and punctuation
Digits use the usual International Morse 0-9 signals. This site also accepts these ordinary punctuation marks from the Korean historical table that do not conflict with the 26 Hangul letter signals:

Procedural signals
ITU-R M.1677-1 also lists general procedural signals for controlling communication. They are not letters, digits, or punctuation, so this site documents them but does not accept them as ordinary Korean text input:

Each uninterrupted dot-and-dash sequence is one procedural signal, not a group to split into ordinary Hangul letters. Other modern extensions omitted by the historical table or conflicting with Hangul values are unsupported, as are Latin letters in Korean mode.
Syllable boundaries and timing
This site's Korean Morse text uses:
- One ASCII space between basic-Jamo code groups within the same syllable.
|between Hangul syllable blocks./between words.- Newlines remain newlines.
In playback, a dot is one unit and a dash three; the gap inside a code group is one unit, the gap between basic Jamo is three, the Korean character gap is five, and the word gap is seven.
The historical rule specifies a five-unit Korean character gap, but does not prescribe a visible character for web or chat text. This site chooses | only to preserve syllable boundaries and restore the original text accurately; it is not a universal or ITU-defined separator.
System and standard status
SKATS is a character relationship established through equal Morse values, not Korean sent by pronunciation. Once a receiver recognizes the basic Hangul Jamo, agreed character boundaries allow modern Hangul syllable blocks to be restored; this site preserves that boundary explicitly with |.
ITU-R M.1677-1 is appropriate for International Morse signals and general timing. The 26 Hangul assignments and five-unit character gap come from Korean historical rules, so they must not be presented as an ITU-defined Hangul alphabet.
