How Russian Morse Code Works

Е and Ё

Е and Ё share .. The converter normalizes Ё to Е, so decoding . returns Е.

Ъ and Ь

The hard sign Ъ is --.--; the soft sign Ь is -..-. Some operating traditions substitute the soft-sign code for Ъ; this converter keeps the two written characters distinct.

Russian Morse Punctuation

This implementation follows the cited traditional Russian punctuation table. Modern operating practice can use International punctuation instead, so the mapping is not presented as universal. Unsupported symbols, including &, +, and $, are rejected instead of silently borrowing International extensions.
